Last Season’s Winner

Luis Suarez – Liverpool

Current Barcelona and Uruguay international forward Luis Suarez was named the FTBpro PFA Fan Player of the Season for the 2013/14 season.

The former Liverpool striker was in outstanding form last season, winning the Premier League golden boot scoring 31 goals. Suarez helped himself to hat-tricks over West Brom and Cardiff and four goals in the game against Norwich. He was also instrumental in helping Liverpool to key victories over title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City. A series of man of the match performances kept Liverpool in the Premier League title race until the final day, just falling short to champions Manchester City. Suarez helped Liverpool finish 2nd and qualify for the Champions League after a four year absence.

Suarez was voted the FTBpro PFA Fan player of the month three times last season – in October, November and again in January and was deservedly crowned PFA Player of the Year by his peers.

The FTBpro PFA Fan awards are designed to give a strong voice to the supporters who are the lifeblood of the game. The awards are endorsed by the players and supported by the clubs.
